Castlegregory B & B

Help, Shores unavailable. Can anyone recommend another in the town?

Budman May 1st, 2007 04:27 AM

Do you really want to stay in Castlegregory if the Shores is not available? I would recommend sending an e-mail to Annette at the Shores and asking her, or just find a nice place in Dingle. ((b))

Since we are headed north to Spiddal, thought Castlegregory on the north shore would be a better starting point. Looks to be a long drive with stops between.

I see you are headed to Spiddle? Where are you coming from? Maybe someone can recommend another nice place to stop. ((b))

Our itinerary...
Kenmare - 2 nights
Castlegregory - 1 night (hopefully)
Spiddle - 3 nights
Castleblagney - 1 night (relatives)
Dublin - 3 nights

We have accomodations in all but Castlegregory. Plan to drive from Kenmare to Dingle, tour area and spend night in Castlegregory. Leave early am to head north via Talbert Ferry to Cliffs of Moher and finally Spiddle. Do you have another thought on or near Dingle?

Hi hannah,

We are booked into The Shores in May, lucky us, but have been for months! Try Annette again, never hurts to ask. Here are some other Castlegregory area B&Bs:

Castle House
Sea Mount House
Beenoskee B&B--http://www.westirelandholidays.com/kerry/beenoskee.htm I haven't stayed here, but Trip Advisor and Review Centre have good reports, though a year or so ago.

Hope this helps.

Helen

Hanna,

perhaps staying in Tarbert might be a good idea? Take a look at Keldun House, http://www.doonbeg-ireland.com/accomm/keldun/index.html. It is a great place and would put you in a good spot for catching the Ferry the next morning. There is also Knight's Haven, http://www.knightshaven.com/, which is convenient to the Ferry, as well. If you are a Trad music lover or player, Thomas & Mary Dillane have a wonderfully restored 100 year + farmhouse in Tarbert, http://www.dillanes.com/.

CowboyCraic, I think she is looking for something close to Dingle as she has the ride from Kenmare, tour Dingle, then spend the night before getting on the road the following morning. ((b))

Thak you Helen The Beenoske B&B looks nice, I will try there but not hopeful. Not getting much availability being that my trip is in July. Appreciate yoyr avice Bit on Talbert area but Budman is right rather stay on Dingle. Feel honored to have you all respond, have seen your other postings elsewhere and all have great advice.

Would it be too far for hannacarter to go as far as Tralee? There might be b&b's on the out skirts of Tralee? If not, it would need be Dingle town or abouts.

Hannahcarter, there are many places on Dingle and some very nice ones. Heatons and Greenmount come to mind.

Good Luck, Joan

There are a couple of B&Bs right next to the Shores that looked pretty nice. Annette would probably be glad to help out if you phoned her.

Well it's The Castle House in Castlegregory. Recommended by Annette at The Shores. Has anyone been? Will review it on my return.
