Castello Ripa D'Orcia

Hey everyone,
We were looking at staying here near Pienza because we have always wanted to stay in a castle. The only reviews I have seen are mostly horrible but they are also a few years old. I am wondering if the service is still bad or not. Has anyone stayed there recently?

Thanks

Our close friends stayed there about 9 years ago & thought it was pretty rustic. Since then, they bought a house close by & go there for lunch or dinner a few times each year. It's still rustic, but quite interesting.

There are better options close by---that place is too isolated for me.

Where would you choose close by to there Bob? I'm looking for the same price range (under 150 euros)

Try Palazzo del Capitano in San Quirico, Le Travese B&B outside Pienza, and Posta Marcucci in Bagno Vignoni. All have web sites. You can see that castle from 2 of those.
