Cassis Accommodation - Any recommendations around €100

Hi

Any suggestions for Hotels, B&Bs, Guesthouses, anything in Cassis. My neighbours are going there in September and have a budget of €100 or less per night for a double with private facilities.

Thanks heaps

Last September, I stayed at Cassitel by the port. 2* hotel without air-condition for about €70 for a double with bathroom. Plain and simple inerior but it was ok because of the low price. I was a bit worried about the heat. The room had a electric fan which I don't remember I used or not. Fortunately (or unfortunaltely) it was cloudy/rainy so did not feel uncomfortable in the room. I requested a room facing the port view which I got. They warned me it would be noisy on that side but I did not find it noisy at all. But the view was not that great. The hotel was located on, let's say, the side of castle and Cap Canaille so you don't see those from the window. For the view it would be better to take a room on the other side (closer to the Calanque de Port Miou. Cap Canaille at sunset was beautiful (saw it as such in SEP.2004) and reminds me somehow of Ayers Rock. Nice terrace restaurant-pizzeria there for the view of the Cap.

Thanks Kappa that's great. I've emailed your very helpful comments to my neighbours. Do you have the web address of the Cassitel - I have http://www.hotel-cassis.com/francais...n-cassitel.php

Cheers for that

Hi,

That's the site I used to book the hotel. I can see the window of my room on one of the photos, on the 2nd floor (US 3rd). And the 2nd room photo could be the room I had but without those flowers. But it had those weird 2 level metalic tables one of the vases is on. The room was very plain but as I said it, since it met my budget and the bathroom was adequate. Take a look at their 3* sister hotel La Rade, it's a little up on a hill and farther walk from the port but it had better view (you can see Cap Canaille from its swimming pool) and I suppose their rooms are better decorated too. Well if the prices meet your friend's budget. I passed by La Rade when I was leaving Cassis for walk on th calanques of Port-Miou and Port-Pins. It looked better but I did not choose the hotel because of my budget + I prefer to be in more central area.
