Casa Howard

Has anyone stayed at Casa Howard, Via Capo le Case by the Spanish Steps in Rome?
I have friends that stayed there many years ago & no one has mentioned it on this website. Just wondering if it's still just as nice?

There are so many places to stay in Rome, Paris, London, Barcelona, etc. That it isn't surprising that one place may not have reviews or trip reports. Same with restaurants. "many years ago" suggests anything could be the truth today. You could take a chance now, and find out it is a gem that simply survives via repeat visitors and word of mouth, or that the n'er do well grandson has taken it over and it's kind of a pit now.

Have you "done a search" here for comments? Just because someone hasn't mentioned it rcently doesn't mean it hasn't been mentioned in thet past year or so.

TripAdvisor has a better "reviews" setup for this kind of question; you can easily search for specific places. uhoh is right - just because one place isn't mentioned here doesn't tell you anything, really.

The TA reviews seem to be generally good.

thanks so much. I'll check tripadvisor & other sites for reviews. I'm just so leary as to their accuracy. but thanks again.

Especially for places with a lot of reviews, the overall gist is usually pretty accurate in my experience. You'll often get one (or a few) who are clearly extremely upset. Likewise, there may also be someone whose review is so glowing that it makes you wonder if it's the hotel manager in disguise. I usually get a good idea if I throw out the extremes and pay most attention to the reviewers whose expectations seem to be in line with my own.
