Carte Orange Demagnitized: What shall I do?

Today, as I was getting into the Palais Royal station, my Carte Orange ticket did not work, I think it got de-mqgnitized.Has this ever happened to you? Will they give me q new ticket?

I'd ask this question at an RATP outlet (Métro, boutique, or Tabac).

It did happen to me with a Paris Visite and I went to the ticket booth and managed to explain in broken french that it was not working. They gave me another, no problem. I figured out that the magnetic closure on my bag (right next to the area I was keeping the card) was causing it.

opaldog is correct..happened to a friend and she just went to the ticket booth and it was corrected right there..we both managed to get the metro on time.

Yep, this does happen. On our recent trip to France, my husband wore a good looking, belt-type pack that has a magnetic closeur. Over the period of maybe 3 days, his metro ticket would no longer work. Fortunately, when this happened, we were entering a station that had an attendant. Some stations don't. Be wise. Keep your magnetic strips away from other magnets!

I demagnetized Carte Oranges 2x before I figured the little pocket on my purse that I was keeping it in had a strong magnetic closure. Each time, the man at the Metro counter just fixed me up with a new one.

All solved! Went to the ticket booth at the Denfert Rochereau station and they gave me a new ticket. Thanks everybody for the help.
