Carry on restrictions question
We are bringing coffee with us to our upcoming trip. The coffee is in small round sealed tins. Will this be a problem getting through security/customs etc?
Hi K,
>We are bringing coffee with us to our upcoming trip. < How will you make it? Depending on who the screeners are, you might have trouble with the coffee in carryon. Customs won't care, unless you have large amounts of it. ((I)) |
I assume the coffee is not in a liquid form? Then no problem.
If you mean that you will be bringing dried coffee to Europe you should be fine. You won't go through customs when you arrive at your European destination, by the way, unless you declare something unusual. Pack it in your checked suitcase.
is there a particular reason you are using up valuable space in your luggage for coffee?
The coffee I am bringing is a special local blend for my family members I am visiting. The cans are small and worth it to me to take up the space as they are gifts.
Oh - gifts make a big difference. After you give them, you will end up w/ that much more space to bring back treasures you buy over there.

hi, karussell
for the avoidance of doubt, it is LIQUIDS/CREAMS they are interested in. not coffee granules. just put it in your checked luggage. regards, ann |
