Thanks to everyone for the great advice. We made reservations at The Town House, which apparently next door to the Lincoln Hotel (the Town House responded to my email first). Both look fine and I'll post comments when I return.

Cathedral road, is a lovely road. It gets a lot of traffic as its one of the main roads into the city center, but the properties there are gorgeous. Your just a few mins walk from the Castle and city center. Also just a minute from Sophia Gardens, where there is the Home of Glamorgan Cricket. If your hewre when there is a game, you can stay there for 3 days. Oh sorry getting confused, thats what I would do...lol Your daughter might not be too impressed.
Anyway your also quite close to Pontcanna and Canton, both are areas that have some great restaurants where Cardiffians go. Have a great time !! Muck |
Thanks Mucky and everyone for the help! We'll be in Cardiff for 3 days/3 nights and I know it's not enough time, but hopefully we'll be back! There's so much to see in Wales!

While I think of it, check out Techniquest, which is great for children and adults of all ages, bit of a science hands on place, but great fun.
It's a short walk from Harry Ramsdens in Cardiff Bay. Good Luck Muck |
Techniquest is a very good idea. You have a few options to get Walk to the castle catch the hop on hop of bus do the ful tour an dstay on until Mermaid Quay. Another option would be, you could get the waterbus from bute park, short walk from your hotel that will take you to Mermaid Quay.
