Cardaillac
Hi all,
Has anyone heard of this village? It is outside Figeac on the road to Rocamadour. |
Yes, it's just a few kilometers north of Figeac. It's a gorgeous medieval village, one of "les plus beaux villages de France."
|
Merci, St Cirq.
I am thinking of staying the night at the Chez Marcel Hotel. Someone said it had a good restaurant. Any thoughts? |
Isn't that the only hotel in town? :)
I've just wandered around the town - never stayed or eaten there. I googled the hotel, though. I wouldn't stay there because I'm pretty allergic to cats and they accept animals and have only 5 rooms. The website I looked at said nothing about a restaurant, just a bar and terrace. But at 30 € for a room, it's certainly a bargain. Figeac has some excellent restaurants, by the way, really excellent eating in that town! |
Thanks for the reply St Cirq.
It is the only hotel in town. I've found 3 reports from people who stayed there and liked it. Any hotel/restaurant recommendations in figeac? |
If you get in trouble with the law while you are there, do they call it a "Cardaillac arrest"? :P bud-dum-dum |
Are you off to France again soon, Ira?

There's one exceptional hotel/restaurant in Figeac, with prices to show for it: http://cgi.chateau-viguier-figeac.com/cgi-bin/news.pl Then there is the Hôtel Champollion in the center of town. It's been quite a few years since we stayed there, but I remember the room was spacious, light-filled, and had lovely bedding. And there's a Best Western - Le Pont d'Or - that we looked at years ago but never stayed in - that was very nice. Two restaurants we've enjoyed in Figeac are La Puce à l'Oreille and Restaurant La Cuisine du Marché. |
St Cirq,
Once again, many thanks. Grandmere, Just planning my next visit. Don't know if we will go in the Spring or the Fall of next year. |
