Car Trawler is a broker bsaed in Irelamd.
They work with several car rental companies, and yes they are reliable.

I rented two cars via CarTrawler this spring (Spain and France) and both worked out fine. They were with two different rental companies, and all went smoothly.

Cartrawler crooks and thieves



Hi. I warn all the people who go on holidays and want to rent a car from Cartrawler. Last year I rented a car for one week through Cartrawler in Alicante. That car Fiat Panda was meant to cost 280 euro. I paid by internet a prepayment of 240 euro and I received a voucher and proof of payment with the information that I have to pay extra 40 euro to the Firefly at the airport after picking up the car. Firefly is the owner of this car. It turned out that after returning this car by me I was charged another 240 euro from the deposit for that car. I made a complaint to the Cartrawler many times but I only received information that everything is fine and I got some stupid clippings from the voucher about fuel cost. I returned that car with a full tank of fuel. I contacted with Firefly in Spain and it turned out that Cartrawler did not pay anything from my prepayment to the Firefly. Then I contacted with Cartrawler again but Mr David from Cartrawler changed his mind and stated that these costs are for rental desk. In total I paid 480 euro for the car which was meant to cost 280 euro!!! Avoid scammers from Cartrawler if you don't want to pay over 200 euro for rental desk of one week car rental.

CAR TRAWLER REFUELING POLICY SCAM !!!

Beware of the refueling policy scam.
Cartrawler forces you to pay for a "refueling" fee even if you return the tank full.
This is not related to the rental agency but a fee charged by cartrawler, which the agency cannot waive.
Cartrawler customer support promises to "look into the issue" but never comes back with an answer. In their latest email they simply stated that they maintain their previous answer - when none was ever offered
