car travel from Barcelona to Bordeaux

What is the best route for car travel between Barcelona and Bordeaux in early March? I am concerned about winter driving through the Pyrenees. Should I be?

Use viaMichelin.com. You can specify the dates of travel and it will route you around mountain passes that are closed for the winter.

And if this is a rental car, be advised that it will cost you a fortune to rent it in Spain and drop it off in France.

There are no mountain passes between Barcelona and Bordeaux if you follow the main highway. Head north from Barcelona and hang a left before Narbonne, taking the A-61 to Toulouse, where you pick up the A-62 to Bordeaux.

Robert is correct.Allow for about 6 hours, because you will be delayed at tolls without access to the automatic lanes. There is no need to go through the Pyrenees unless you want to pass through Andorra for shopping.
