car/train brugge to honfleur

We will be in brugge and then travelling to Honfleur. we can take the train to Paris and the Normady, but thought it would be nice to drive across northern France. Too expensive to rent a car in Belgium and drop off in France. After Honfleur we are travelling to Paris. I have absolutely no desire to drive into Paris. What I'd like to do is take a train into France, rent a car, drive to Normandy and after that drop off the car and take the train into Paris. Will be staying in Honfleur for 4 days. Any ideas/ suggestions? thanks

I love Honfleur, but 4 days seems a bit much unless you are planning to use it as a base for exploring, which is fine - there's plenty to explore.

I'm not sure what you're asking for. Sounds like a decent plan to me.

Yes, we will be using Honfleur as a base for exploring. What i'm wondering is what is the best place to take a train to, in order to rent a car which we will then be able to drop off in Normandy at a train station. According to autoeurope, we would not be able to drop off car in Honfleur. as well no train station in Honfleur.

Take the train from Bruges to Lille and rent the car there. Drop off the car in Chartres on your way to Paris.

Ditto to picking up the car in Lille- exactly what I'm doing. I'll be dropping the car off at Versailles (car depot is at the station) but another alternative would be Rouen.

We've done the drop-off in Chartres several times. It's easy and I'm sure Versailles would be, too.
