Car Service, Port at Southampton to London

I am looking for a reliable car service to go from the port at Southampton to London, then London to Heathrow. Recommendations, please.

Do you have a particular budget for this? And how many of you are there? If just one, consider taking the train - there is a fast connection from Southampton to Reading to Paddington, where you could take the Heathrow Connect or Heathrow Express to the airport. A car service will be very expensive for one.

We recently used the following www.smithforairports.com and were very pleased with the service. It was 70 GBP from LHR to Southampton.

Sorry that should've been www.smithsforairports.com

Never used them personally:

Personally, I can't even begin to imagine why you want the slow, expensive way of taking the journeys you're describing. Under most circumstances, the train to London and the tube to the airport make far more sense, in cost and in speed, than paying someone to sit in traffic (not to mention the fuel you're paying for and the hours of depreciation on the driver's expensive technology) for hours while you fume at the time you're wasting.

But if you insist on travelling the old-fashioned way, it's even less clear why you seem to want "a car service"

The most cost-efficient way of getting driven from Southampton to London (and for the driver's time, fuel and depreciation in doing the journey in reverse without you) is to use one of the Southampton-based businesses already referred to. The most cost-efficient way of being driven to a London airport from London is to use one of the London-based airport specialists (like Ray Skinner or justairports) constantly referred to on this forum.

For the triangular journey, you need two companies.

Historytraveller's recommendation seems very reasonably priced - I know other local firms charge up to £200 for Port to London for the cruiseship market.

AWhat cruise line are you coming into SOuthampton on.. I looked at private drivers then found Cunard has a shuttle service to Victoria station that can be booked with your reservation . As I recall it was the same price as the train and takes about 15 minutes longrer if traffic isn't too horrible. Check with your cruise line!

Can OP clarify if they are staying in London or going straight to the airport for the flight home? If the latter what time do you disembark and what time do you fly home.

There's a reasonably efficient coach service that runs from near the cruise terminals direct to Heathrow, you can take the train from near the cruise terminals to Woking then bus from there (you can buy one ticket for this) or if you are staying in London you can check the prices on Megatrain for Southampton to London

All of them will be cheaper than a car service and won't significantly increase travel time
