Car rentals....WALES!!!!!!

Hello everyone....

I know the topic of car rentals in the UK has been a popular thread and since I am planning a week in Wales soometime the first week of May, I'd like some input PLEASE on personal experiences with different rental companies.

Normally, Hertz is the one I go with, but, for this trip there is not a Hertz in or near the area we are planning to stay in. The train station we will come into in Wales is in Carmarthen and the owner of the rental property we are booking at has sent this list of car rental companies:

Practical Car & Van Rental,
Sixt Kenning,
Silcox Rentals &
Enterprise rent-a-car.

Anyone have experience with any of these places???? Any other suggestions????

Thanks!!!!

Why don't you drive to Carmarthen instead of taking the train? If you are coming up from London for instance, rent the car at Heathrow. You would then have a choice of all the rental agencies. And you would be driving through some lovely countryside.

We will be coming down from Scotland. Originally, we were going to do Wales first and then Scotland...now,we have reversed it. Thanks for the suggestion though...it is appreciated!!!!

Sixt Kenning is a large reputable chain, but if you want Hertz, why not rent in Swansea? It is only about 35 miles from Carmarthen.

Or take the train to a major city like Manchester and rent there -- much more choice of rentals. I would avoid Sixt (lots of horror stories) and go for Auto Europe.
