car rental with early drop in Marseille
 

Need to pick up a car at Nimes airport and drop off 9 days later for 7:30 train from Marseille. Any recommendations on agencies?

Sure. Call Auto Europe (or do their website for starters -- but you'll get more specific help by calling). As a consolidator they can tell you what agencies are open and most convenient and rent you a car from that agency as they represent nearly all of them. What's more, their rate will PROBABLY be less than if you rented direct from that particular agency itself.

The airport is an exellent idea, as the car-rental agencies near the Marseille train station are in a rather seedy area.

Avis opens at 6:30 M-F, 7 Sat.

The train station and surrounding area is undergoing renovation in Marseille. Avis is located on the side of the train station in a temporary bldg. Europcar is right at the train station as well. Often you can simply drop the keys if they arent open.
