It pays to read the T&C before committing, certainly in the second case that would have saved a lot of problems.
Yes they are a pain to plough through but are there for a reason. Many (most) car rental companies have age restrictions, upper and lower.

second case...14 pages of T&Cs...no doubt in small font size, smaller than the web norm of 12 px.
It seems in this day and age of Medicals to keep your DL that you still need a letter from your doctor.I am talking about EU DLs I have no idea about what eh rest of the world have.
