car rental reliability

Which car rental company have you had good/bad luck with? I'll be renting in Ankara and returning to Nevsehir in the early AM. Predictible availability and safe and servicable condition are the most important factors; I can research price after all of you recommend companies. Thank you.

I rented through a broker. I do not remember the name of the rental agency itself, but you can find it in my trip report. Click on my name to find my trip report.

If you are an American, I have been using AutoEurope for over ten years with absolutely no problems. I looked at their website and they do handle Turkey. I like them because it's a company I can deal with here if I have a problem overseas. They're also strict with with the contract they have with the auto companies over seas. You get a newer car, etc. If they try to charge you for something you aren't supposed to pay for, AutoEurope takes care of it.

We're in Turkey right now, renting from AutoEurope. We picked the car up at the Izmir airport and will drop it in Antalya. So far so good. The car (a Renault Clio) drives well and the people at the counter were very friendly and helpful. The only catch was that the counter says EuroCar, not AutoEurope. Maybe I missed that note in the correspondence, but we walked around for a while before we realized they were the same.

They are not the same. AutoEurope is a broker, not a rental company. You do NOT rent from AutoEurope -- they just arrange the rental for you. The actual rental company is whichever one AutoEurope hooks you up w/ (in this case EuroCar). The name of the rental company would have clearly been shown on your reservation.

Hi hum,

Also try www.kemwel.com
They are associated with AE, and are often less expensive.
