Car Rental recommendation
Planning a trip to Italy. We will pick-up a car in Florence and use the rental for a 4 day Tuscany trip.Has anyone ever heard of www.car-rental-italy.com?Or can anyone make a recommendation as to how to or how not to rent an auto! Thanks!Maggie

You might try Auto Europe (www.autoeurope.com), Kemwel/Holiday Auto (www.kemwel.com), and Avis (www.avis.com). Do you have an Avis Worldwide Discount (AWD) number? They're pretty easy to get and usually available via alumni associations, credit card companies, etc. With my AWD and reserving via the net, I got a great (for Italy) rate from Avis. Surprisingly, it was cheaper than either Auto Europe or Kemwel. Just make certain you know what is and isn't included in each company's quote.

Hi Maggie, <BR>I just got back from Italy two weeks ago and we rented a car from autoeurope.com. It is cheap if you drive a stick shift but expensive if it's an automatic. We picked it up in Milan and returned it in Venice. For 3 nights and 4 days it cost $134.00 including the insurance and vat taxes. Hope this helps.

I just got an email from Renault Eurodrive. They have an April promo for 17 days, mid-size car with air for $899 complete (tax, insurance, CDW) for an autolease.(In Italy) Extra days are only $21 a day. And if you sign up for a France Privilege Mastercard ( online), you get three free days.

We usually use AutoEurope. We found them to be the least expensive and easy to work with throughout Europe.
