Car Rental in the Cotswolds?

Can anyone recommend a car rental company in Moreton-In-Marsh? We are taking the train from London to Moreton-In-Marsh and staying in Upper Slaughter. Would like to pick up a car when we arrive by train. Thanks.

I took quick glance and couldn;t find a car rental agency there (this is a really small village). There may be one - but it's not obvious. You might try emailing the people below to ask.

but I think you might be better off finding a rental agency in a larger town nearby.

As far as I'm aware, there's no car hire in Moreton.

Your options are:
- contact Europcar, and see if their Cheltenham or Oxford branch will deliver to Moreton station (there might be a cost associated with this)
- stay on the train to Evesham, where there are one or two small local operations
- get off at Oxford at pick up a car there.

In all cases, googling in English helps: the term that works is "car hire".

If driving on the left is a worry, I'd strongly recommend NOT collecting a car at any Central Oxford location, where you're thrown instantly into coping with drivers coming at you and - worst of all - Oxford's kamikaze cyclists. Get a taxi to Hertz in Kiidlington, where there's a nice big car park to practice, and a couple of miles of dual carriageway to get some experience of live traffic. It's then about a 30 min drive on a generally hassle-free road, with reasonably long visibility, to the Slaughters.

Excellent advice from flanneruk re driving in, or may I say, in most of the environs of Oxford. It is more than the quaint university town one sees in Morse or Lewis, though that as well. Chaotic. Park outside and take the bus in.
