need help on how to get to lucerne from zurich airport

This will be my 1st time travelling to switzerland and i have no clue on how i could get to my hotel from zurich airport. i looked up at the taxi fares and cant believe how expensive it is. i'd like to use a different type of transportation and avoid the taxi to save some money. i get to zurich on 5/3 and leave on 5/6. my hotel info is below:

hotel schweizerhof luzern
schweizerhofquail 3a

I'd appreciate your help. Thank you in advance

It's pretty straight forward, 1 1/4 hours or so, with prices less than 15 Swiss Francs.

Here is the official train site.

Train schedules and pricing: www.sbb.ch

There is a train station at Zurich Flughafen. You can get a train directly to Luzern. Easy as pie.

Once you are in Luzern, you can either take a taxi or walk to your hotel. The Schweitzerhof is right over the bridge from the train station.

The fare is 27 CHF for a one-way, second-class ticket. It is 13.50 if you have a HALF-FARE CARD. A Half-Fare Card is 110 CHF.

After you have cleared passport control, ask anybody who looks at home where the trains are. People are really very helpful. It is a five minute walk, maybe less. Buy a ticket Zurich to Luzerne. Get on the train. Easy. Enjoy the ride, it is quite pretty. When you exit the station in Luzerne, you are THERE. Mountains and a lake and swans and ancient buildings. Lovely. The place opposite the station, near the ferry stop, has nice goulash soup ... don't know if they serve this in summer!

LOL - the OP is from 2012. I wonder if he ever made it to Luzern.
