Car rental in Italy
What company is the best car rental agency to rent in Italy. We would like to rent a car in Siena, Italy for about 5 days to tour the countryside.
|
We've had good luck with AutoEurope and Hertz. Looking at 2007, right now Hertz seems to have the edge for rates for the type of car we're looking at.
|
We use Europecar and have never had any complaints - except for the year they gave us a Lancia that was so big my foot couldn't reach the clutch pedal. My husband had to do all the driving that year.

Hi K,
www.novacarhire.com www.autoeurope.com www.gemut.com www.kemwel.com are all brokers. They will arrange a car for you with one of the major rental agenices at lower rates. You should have an International Driver's Permit in Italy. See www.aaasouth.com/travel_drivers.asp#idp ((I)) |
You need to check prices from a few sources. The brokers such as Autoeurope/Kemwel do not always offer the best prices. You also have to pay at time of booking with the brokers. The cost is refundable if you cancel. For Italy, Avis sometimes has excellent rates.

Has anyone ever rented from Argus car rental?
http://www.argusrentals.com/Europe/I...Gelsomino.html It appears they have some good rates and cars, but I just stumbled upon them. Thanks. |
Does anyone know why rates would be so different on the europcar.it website compared to booking on the europcar.com site. When I use the Italian site, the quote is 750 Euros, and when I use the American site, the cost for the same vehicle, same period of time is $1,500+ - Is it possible to book directly on the Italian site from the US?

Hi P,
>Is it possible to book directly on the Italian site from the US? < Yes ((I)) |
That's what I'll do then! Thanks.
