Car rental from Barcelona
 

Hello, Would like to leave Barcelona end of March to travel up the Costa Brava for 3 days. Would renting from the train station be the best place to pick up a car and easily get out of the city and up the coast? First trip to Barcelona, don't know about traffic situations, any advice most appreciated.

Airport is on the west side of the city. Outside of the city.

There are several train stations in Barcelona. Yiu could pick up a car at Sants station, from there it's pretty easy to get to the 340 which will take you to the highway north.

The airport is more south of the city than west. You could get a car there but you'd kind of be backtracking, hopefully someone else can advise you on other stations to rent from.

Yes, Sant station is the one I was asking about, good to know it shouldn't be difficult from there, leaving mid morning. Thanks

Ensure you have a GPS. BTW, the approach to the rental offices at Sants is a bit tricky - they are on the roof. Look for a ramp. Also, if returning the car at Sants, use GPS to find gas station.
