Car rental from agents

Greetings from Malaysia!
Would like to find out whether these 2 car rental agents from Greece are reliable.
City-Car-Rental & Airport-Car-Hire?
I intend to rent from Athens airport.
Is it better to rent from a brand with a desk at the airport?
Didn't know it was so expensive & difficult to rent with GPS.
Thank you

Both car rentals that you mentioned are brokers, based outside Greece, they work with the known brandnames that are based in Greece....

I believe that www.Economycarrentals.com is based in Greece, but I do not see the difference in that it also is a broker. I've had good service from them.

Like Michael I also used EconomyCarRentals.com In my case the car was provided by Avis. The price was the best I found at the time and the vehicle and service from Avis was top notch.

Your best bet it to bring a GPS from home. You can buy a TomTom
and download Greek maps right from their site. Or you can get
all of western Europe. The advantage of having your own are many:

- you learn to use it ahead of time!
- download points of interest and plan routes before you leave
- it may end up costing less than renting
- you get to use it for years after you return home

Have a great trip!

Rob

Thanks for the replies. But I'm still confused because when I want to actually book from the rental companies, there are extra charges etc. Or the price shown isn't complete.
Have you heard of Car Trawler/ City Car Rentals?
I've heard that some agents bring you somewhere to pick up the car. Does Economy Car rental do that? I want to only pick up car from the airport.
I'm reaching Athens this 13 Tues. & driving to Kalamata.
Anyway, thanks alot to those who've replied.

The following car rentals have offices at the Athens International Airport :

Budget - Avis - Hertz -National/Alamo - Sixt

If you book through a broker one of these car rentals, or choose to make your booking directly , you will pick up your car at the airport upon your arrival.

If a broker offers you a car from another company, they will have to bring the car to airport, or you will have to pick it up somewhere else.

Car Trawler is a broker based in Ireland, co-operating with some of the above companies.

Compare prices between brokers and the above mentioned companies directly, chances are that brokers can offer you a better price. But do choose one of the companies i mentioned, if you want to pick up your car at the APT without a hassle.

Personally always go direct and save www.carrentals.com

out of ATH... careful with parking charges and traffic in

Athens usually just rent after my stay there...

insuremytrip.com wise due to eminent financial collapse

due to unsustainable Greek Debt 1 year bonds @ 94%!! yesterday

will not last for long...
