Car Rental Company : Europe By Car

Has anyone used the company Europe By Car? After thorough research they are about $1000 less expensive than Auto Europe. This sounds great but is it too good to be true?
Any advise on this would be very helpful.
Thank you,
Robyn

Where are you going? Some auto makers don't allow their cars to travel to certain places in Europe (Eastern Europe and/or Italy are examples). Because of this, there is a difference in price but also limits where you can drive.

Does one quote include CDW and another not?

How long are you going? If you are over 17 days, the lower quote may be for a lease - which is a lot cheaper and includes CDW in the price.

$1,000 less? That sounds fishy, especially since Europe by Car is an AutoEurope affiliate? Have you called AutoEurope and asked about this? I would.

And if you're up in the range of $1,000 for a car rental, you should be looking at a lease, not a rental, anyway.

We are going to Italy and will have the car about 12 days.
This is comparing the same size car
Europe by Car is $1,030 plus 3 Euro a day for the 2nd driver and Auto Europe is $2437.00.

My concern is Europe by Car is too good to be true. Have you heard any positives or negatives about this company.

It is a very big difference in price.

Thank you,
Robyn

Europe by Car is a very good, well-established, well-known company. I have ended up with Europe by Car rentals through AutoEurope dozens and dozens of times.

I am guessing you are getting two prices for two things that are not comparable. The higher price probably includes the CDW and/or other insurance. You're probably comparing apples and oranges.

Call AutoEurope and ask. If nothing else, they guarantee to meet or beat anyone else's prices, and if you rent through them you'll have better customer service.

Agree that you should contact AutoEurope directly.

It really sounds like one rental rate includes insurance and the other one doesn't.

ditto bk

PS,

Italy requires that you take the CDW.

Do not confuse it with Europcar--which is the company that Autoeurope uses.

What Bob said.
AutoEurope uses the car rental agency, Europcar.

Europe by Car is a consolidator (or was). I used them years ago (more than 15 yrs. ago, I think) before I discovered AutoEurope.

Oh woops. Big woops!

It is indeed Europcar that I've been using through AutoEurope, not Europe by Car, which I think I used ages and ages ago.

CHECK OUT KEMWELL. WE HAVE USED THEM IN ITALY 3 TIMES AND THERE IS NO DEDUCTABLE AND INSURANCE IS INCLUDED.AND THE PRICES WERE GREAT. PREPAID FOR 12 DAYS AND USED IT 9 GOT SPEEDY REFUND. THEY USE A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT RENTAL COMPANIES BUT WE HAD EUROCAR EACH TIME.
