Audiobook connections in rental cars

We will be renting a car through Hertz in Paris when we drive to Normandy. Does anyone know if there are connections for iPods/iPhones in their cars? We want to listen to an audiobook as we drive. Any issues? I know I can call Hertz, but I trust the Fodor community more!

I think it would depend on the car you get...

Some cars have an aux-in, for which you need a cable, some have bluetooth, which works with most modern iPods, but you can't be certain of it even if the model you hope to hire says it has one in the specs. Hire cars are often the lowest spec available, or a special spec.
You need to contact Hertz I think.

Usually though I think the hire company state if it has an MP3/iPod connection. But then again you can't guarantee you will get say a Ford Focus just because that is the example they give.

How interesting. I rent books on tape for our 4 hour drive to the beach because the road is boring and I know it so well. Do you not consider the possibility that looking out the window and seeing things that are SO different from your home here could be more interesting than the Davinci Code.
INdeed, the plugged in generation.

Most vehicles will have a CD player... why not put the audio book onto CD? Or buy one of those gadgets for 15 bucks that you
plug your iPod into and it plays over an FM channel? Cheap and they work not bad. My TomTom will do that too if I put content
into it with an SD card.
