car rental

I've heard that if you are over a certain age e.g. 70 that you can' rent a car in the UK.

Comment

Well, at least your hearing is still pretty good.

It varies a bit by company. You may be able to find one that will still rent to you, if you are under 75.
I don't know if it's true or not, but my parents, who are in their 80s, say that AutoEurope (www.autoeurope.com - 1-800-223-5555) have never refused their business renting in Europe or the UK. They have driven there well past the age of 70. Whether they should have or not is another question....

St Cirq.

I'm afraid your parents are not able to read the fine print anymore.

All agencies I looked at have age limitations.

All vary.

Autoeurope, being a broker with no cars and not an agency, refer you to the limitations of the actual agency.

One exception is the auto lease programs like Auto France for Peugeot and the similar one for Renault. They do not have any maximum age limit. Of course, they are only good if you are leasing for 17 days or more.
