car rental
My itinerary for a March-April trip to Italy includes: one week in Rome, one week in Florence, 5 days traveling through Tuscany, Pisa, Cinque Terre, Siena (not necessarily in that order) then 10 days in Turin where I'll do some genealogical research, take day trips into the Alp,hopefully to do some hiking. My question: I'll rent a car in Florence to use when I leave there. Will return the car to Turin. Where, in each place, is it easiest to pick up and return the car? Airport? Other place? Also, any comments on my itinerary would be appreciated.

We rented a car through Auto Europe at the Florence airport and it was very easy.

I agree with the general good assessment of AutoEurope - - even though I got quite a high quote from them recently - - and a much lower one from Avis direct.
|
don't forget it is usually not a good idea to rent a car at the airport in Italy due to the high surcharge there.

Make sure to compare insureance rates. AutoEurope is good because there insurence is included and there is a zero deductable.
|
Rex,I think the reason for your higher quote from AutoEurope is their merger with Kemwel
To Beth,
AutoEurope does not include insurance unless you pay for it! -The same as any Rental company-no difference!
|
I agree with Beth that Auto Europe includes all taxes and insurance with
zero deductible when quoting a price,
some companies do not. So at first glance it may seem that you may save money by using another company, only to find that your rate did not include insurance or perhaps the insurance had
a deductible. It can be confusing, especially when trying to compare online. Also, Auto Europe advertises that they will match a competitor's rate if lower and sometimes offers a cell phone with your rental.
