Car hire in Turkey
Thanks to everyone's help and travel reports, we have sorted out our itinerary and accommodation. I am now trying to decide on a hire car for two weeks.I have looked at rentalcar.com, Carscanner.com, Autoeurope.com and Economycarrental.com.
Rentalcars.com are about 1/3 cheeper than everyone else. They say everything is included, but there is usually a reasons for while things are cheeper. Has anyone used Rentalcars.com or able to make some recommendations |

I used http://www.economycarrentals.com/ in Turkey with no problem, but then I did not have a repair claim to file, so I do not know how such claim service works with them. It is a broker which contract with different rental agencies. |
I booked through gemut.com, with whom I have had consistently commendable experiences.

I have applied to gemut.com for a quote but have not heard back from them (3days). I think I will go with economycarrentals, but i will keep doing alittle more searching |
We are going with autoeurope even though it was a lot more expensive than economy car rentals. I had read about local suppliers for economy car rentals not always giving great cars. I think there are some threads on TA. Autoeurope may cost more, but gives me more peace of mind. And on the autoeurope site I selected a car with higher liability insurance, because the cheaper cars had very low liability limits.

My experiences with car rental companies in Turkey were bizarre. At the airport in Nevsehir, I had to leave the Economy Car rental with the manager of the airport because there was no office and the representative never came to meet us. And in Cesme the hotel which had an office for Europcar was closed and I basically had to bribe someone to take us to another location.

Economy Car Rentals is a broker, it would not handle the rental itself. |
The Europcar location to which I was to return my car in Bursa changed after I rented the car and before I returned it. I was given no information about it when I rented or by e-mail thereafter. There were no signs at the old location. It made returning the car a bit more challenging than I had expected!

Well, someone did give me a car with a promise that someone would pick it up at the airport, so someone was responsible.

I think it was under the name Eurocar at Santiago de Compostela in Spain and it turned out to be Avis.
