Car hire for multi countries

We would like to rent a car to drive from London to Charente, France and then to Opatija, Croatia. Does anyone know of a good auto rental company that will allow us to take the car into those three countries?

Will you be returning it to it's original place or dropping off in Croatia?

renaultusa.com

EuroDrive works best for me usually for this

Europcar.com for convential rental

Rental will be sky high one way.

seat61.com trains more cost effective by far usually.

although I have doe both prefer to train these days

I don't know the precise answer, but two things to consider...

1) British cars have the steering wheel on the other side from continental cars which makes driving a british car on the continent less ideal, plus driving out of London is a nightmare, so it would make far more sense to either get the Eurostar to France or taking a train from london then the ferry/Eurotunnel train from port on the south coast of england to a point in Northern France and pick up a car there.

2) Car hire companies do have some restrictions on which countries they will allow you to take the car. This is often down to insurance, so, for instance, a car hire company in France may not have an insurance agreement in place in Croatia. You're just going to have to ask around...

Even if you can find a car rental company that will allow it, it will cost you a fortune. Who in Croatia is going to want to drive a right-hand-steering-wheel car back to London (which is what the rental company will want to happen)? Getting from London to the Charente without a car should be a breeze. Renting a car in France is easy enough - whether or not you can take it to Croatia is up to the companies' insurance arrangements. And even if you can go to Croatia, you'll pay through the nose to leave it there, if that's your plan.

We had not decided if to do a one-way and fly back or to drive back. But good points in previous replies suggest we should not do a one-way. Also, good points about wheel on wrong side of car for Europe so perhaps just rent upon arrival in France (maybe take train over from Heathrow) and then return the same way?
Thanks to all the responders - very helpful information!

Train leaves from St. Pancras Station in London for France, not from Heathrow..you'll have to travel from LHR into London first.
