Does anyone know the new name for this site? It was a great place to buy train tickets for France but I can’recall the new name. Pay |

French railway's site www.oui.sncf is said by some here to be better than before to use but yes many many folks who use French trains a lot, like StCirq often recommend www.trainline.com.

Beware, trainline.com now charges a booking fee to non-Europeans (based on browsing address). Best to use loco2 instead, or even the much-improved oui.sncf (the app is very good).

I have never been charged a fee by Trainline. I use them all the time. I live in Europe but my browsing address is a US one.

It's called a booking fee. i just did a search for CDG to Lyon and made a selection. Included in the results was the line, 'A booking fee of €1.35 will apply to this transaction.' Not going to pay it if I can avoid it. |

I know one shouldn't believe everything one reads but it says, 'No booking fees. No hidden costs. Same price as the carriers. We add nothing on top. |
It's true. I use www.trainline.com ALL the time - probably 100 trips a year. There are no booking fees, nothing on top of SNCF (which I also use, because I have several of their discount cards).
I don't know where you are getting additional fees, but I never do. Maybe because I use a European credit card? |
Maybe I need to clean my cache, or eliminate my cookies, or something. For our trip in November which will includes several segments by train, I'll just link through maninseat61. |

OK - wow has changed a lot since I last looked in detail. Books everything thru other companies like trainline - site has really gone commercial - will arrange your trip and sell anything needed. But the best train site around - especially if going from London to anyplace in Europe.

No, but the Trainline people entered into a commercial agreement with SNCF whereby they wouldn't charge more than the national railroad. If they'd wanted to become another RailEurope, they could have,I suppose.
I just booked trains for July through them and paid no booking fees. |
