Capri's in Paris?

For some reason I think this topic has been discussed, however, please indulge me this one question. Can I comfortably wear black Capri's in Paris in August? I do not have the desire to wear long pants, won't be wearing shorts and probably not a dress so that leaves the Capri's that I find suitable for almost anywhere other than a fine dining restaurant in the eve. Will it be acceptable in the usual tourist haunts and for most casual dining experiences? Many thanks for your help.

Yes, but they look much better with cute/comfortable sandals than huge white sneakers and socks.

Thank you ladies! Don't worry Djkbooks I will wear appropriate sandals, tops and pocketbook. I knew I could count on my Fodorites.

I thought only men were wearing capris in Paris this year.

ilana25841 Jun 19th, 2006 12:01 PM

Only with really nice big white purses, from what the fodorites tell me.:-)

Why wouldn't it be ok? Paris is just Paris not the moon!

I think that the pants called "pantacourt" in France is probably Capris. They're very popular in France.

Blackduff (and men do wear pantacourt too)

When I looked for "pantacourt" using google, I found another site which might be worth looking. For some type of clothing which won't be found back home, look through this site.

Certainly these clothes won't everyone but the colours are great. Their botique is in Paris.

>Can I comfortably wear black Capri's in Paris in August?<

A lot depends upon your size and shape in reference to their size and shape.

Strangely enough, more men wear "pantacourt" than women, but nobody will bat an idea in Paris at anything they see. If they do, it's either your imagination or they are other tourists.

I bought a pair of "pantacourt" this morning. There was a selection of at least twelve versions. The products which were offered Oxbox, Columbia, and many other major brands. This is a very popular item for this summer, although I have used this previous seasons.

Pricewise, the Oxbow pantacourt I bought was over 60 €, so this isn't a cheap solution for travel clothes.
