Capri - Via Krupp
Good news for tourists that will be in Capri in the second half of May.
After 32 years of being "closed" because of a not short work in progess, Via Krupp is going to re-open. Via Krupp is a very charming street who enables the walkers to begin their walk from Giardini di Augusto and to arrive in Marina Piccola (and viceversa, though I suggest to avoid the viceversa because it is very tiring to walk up). The whole length is about one mile. Vincenzo |
that's sounds so nice!
we have our first trip to Capri planned for June, and we're staying at VILLA Krupp. I am thinking that might be nearby? |
Yes, your hotel is above Giardini di Augusto.

I'm thinking about going to Marina Piccola for the 2nd half of my family's daytrip to Capri in about a week and a half. (Note: Anacapri/Monte Solaro the first half) Is it possible to walk from Marina Piccola to Marina Grande for our return ferry to Sorrento? If so, how long/strenuous is the walk?
Also, I know that a lot of people don't recommend day trips to Capri, but that was most practical for our trip. Do let me know if you don't think Marina Piccola would be worth it for the 2nd half of our daytrip. I was also thinking about walking to Arco Naturale or Villa Jovis for the views, but we would like to get near some water... |
Hi Music - I often spend a few hours at Marina Piccola whenever I go to Capri. It's a lovely spot (- though it will be busy in August).
The walk back to Marina Grande would be strenuous as it's up and over the hill. Personally I wouldn't want to do it - but if you're fit and energetic ... Steve |
musicl1, I just returned from a trip that included 3 nights in Capri. I walked from Giardini di Augusto down to Marina Piccola. I'm surprised it's a mile, seemed longer! I sure wouldn't want to have to walk back up. And it was very hot in early July; I imagine it will be even hotter in August.
Another possibility for seeing I Faraglioni is to go to Giardini di Augusto. From the garden, there are stairs up to a lookout where you can see Faraglioni and a beautiful view of the water. |
