Capri or Ishcia or both?

Hello,

I tried to post this earlier but I guess it didn't work, so I am trying again...

My boyfriend and I are spending 3 weeks in Italy in May and plan to spend 4 nights in Sorrento and explore the Amalfi coast using Sorrento as the base. My question is, should we go to Capri or Ischia or both? I would love to do a day trip to each of them, but we would also like to visit Positano and Amalfi and so I think this might be a little much. If it is, which island is better, and why? I would love some opinions on this!

Capri is more beautiful than Ischia, so I would vote for Capri, with the suggestion that you take a day trip to Ischia while in Capri, so you would see them both. Capri has stunning views, beautiful bays, it is magic!

Hi amanda,

Your post is still there; click on your name and all of your posts will come up.

I second Battufolina's suggestion. Do an overnight on Capri.

From Naples you can take the boat to Capri, then go to Sorrento, drop off your luggage and visit the rest of the AC.

Ischia or Capri or both?

I agree with Patrick's comments; especially as I was a daytripper to Capri and didn't enjoy it as much as those who have spent the night there. In fact, I would say it's fairly consistent on this forum that those who overnight on Capri like it better than those who are only visiting for the day.
