Capri--are these sights possible in a day?
We plan to visit Capri for a day during our trip to AC and have the following places in mind-the green grotto, faro beach, the faraglionis, and the marina grande -are these all doable in one day??
Also, whats the best way to get around capri?

If you take the first boat over and the latest one possible back (from/to wherever you're stayin on the AC), then you can fit a lot in for a day on Capri, but you won't be able to sit/lie and relax for long.
Depending on what you want to see, and your list is all on the coastline, a boat is the best way to reach many of the sights/areas on Capri. There are several private boat hire companies on Capri, so when you alight your ferry at the Marina Grande (tick one off the list!) you'll already find sales people with flyers and advice on which boat to take where. Most are plying the Blue Grotto, but you can hire your own smaller boat to visit the places you want at your own pace. There is a great little company (have never known the name in all my years going to Capri, but they are great) in the middle of the Marina Grande berths, look for the small wooden hut off the middle pier and they have a group of beech-coloured motor boats. Not sure of the price now, but you can always try to negotiate a route, time and price with them for a driver/guide and the private use of the boat. From the Marina Grande, they will advise the best direction to travel based on the tides. The Green Grotto is much easier to access than the Blue Grotto (which would be the most expensive 10mins of your life, but still good), the Faraglioni are just around the coast from the Marina Piccolo and your driver would take you through them (esp the "tunnel of love"), show you the rock formations on the cliffs on the way around, and stop at the Marina Piccolo for a swim. The Faro beach gets very crowded in Summer, and your boat might not be able to dock there, so if you still want to visit, you can access it from Anacapri - which entails a ride up to Capri town on the Funicular from Marina Grande, then a white-knuckle bus awesome 15min orange bus ride to Anacapri, then another orange bus ride down to the beach. You can hire beach beds, or just dig a hip hole in the rocks (no sand here) and lay on your towel. If you want a beach but don't get time, you can always go to the beach just behind the Marina Grande, hire a sun bed and order from the waiters wandering around for a bit of seaside glamour.

Capri is only four miles long and two miles wide, so we aren't dealing with big distances here. On a day trip, you might be a bit pushed to see the sites you list, depending on how long you want to stay in each place, on the beach for instance. in a reasonable time, so taxi would be the best.
Make sure you agree a price for what you want before you leave, as you can get severely ripped off. Maybe others on here can give you an idea of what's reasonable.
You land at the Marina Grande, so you're right there straight away and if you have an early start, then there's plenty of time for lunch too.
However, the Faraglionis are on the South East corner and the Faro beach is on the South West coast, so do allow time.
