Capri and Sorrento in one day?
I would like opinions on the possibility of seeing both sites in one day. Starting in Napoli port to Capri to Sorrento and back to port Napoli. I have an 805 am hydroifoil from Napoli to Capri We have a 2 hr private boat tour to see the grottos and Island by water. At 1130 am we have the rest of the day! Our ship leaves at 1930 pm. The ferry sch would be tight and only give us 2 hrs after boat tour in capri and 2 hrs in Sorrento. The question is should we do it or just spend the day in Capri and go back to Naples from there. Any suggestions appreciated. |

Sorrento is more of a tourist base than a destination. It is quite pleasant, has hotels and restaurants, but it is not really in a class with Naples, Capri, etc. Spend your extra time on Capri. Include Anacapri.

Completely agree with AJPeabody.

Yes Sorrento is a cool watering hole but rather blah for visitors. But if you want to get off boat there you could take commuter train to Pompeii and then to Naples - baggage stowage at entrance to ruins.

See Capri; forget about Sorrento.
I spent 5 nights in Capri and I would like to go back, So much to see, so much to do, or choose just to sit and enjoy those magnificent views. |
Thank you

AJ Peabody nailed it. And, on Anacapri, take the chairlift to Monte Solaro for the most magnificent views of the Amalfi coast.
