Can't believe next week today we will be in Cappadocia and really looking forward to our trip. Before I start packing (as light as possible) seeing that I plan to do a lot of shopping in Istanbul (best prices? for leather and other things). As some of you will know we will be also visiting Antalya, Lycian coast on blue cruise, few nights Fethiye - Bodrum, Dalyan, on to Selcuk- for Ephesus (must visit Sirince), and lastly few nights Istanbul before our flight back to South Africa. As we plan to go most places by ourselves (walking, rent bicycles ot scooter). SHOES: I dont want to pack a lot of heavy shoes. I asume running tekkies will be sufficient for walking and bicycling?
JACKET: Will light Jacket be sufficient or must we take warmer Jacket for Hot air balloon flight? Dont know how cold it get and is evenings cold?
Daytime comfortable clothing but for evenings I am not sure. We will be Staying at Turquaz Cave hotel in Goreme.
Evenings on Gulet Blue cruise - will I need a jacket and pants (track suit)?

You might want to reconsider about the shoes if you are doing any of the real walking along the paths in the Lycian coast or in Cappadocia; you may want to have hiking boots with ankle support. On our trip, I lived in these a lot and was so thankful I had them. When in transit I always just wear mine because they are bulky for packing.

A light jacket should be sufficient, and you can always layer.

During the daytime, and while hiking and cycling, it will be quite hot a lot of the places you are.
