Cappadocia in July

I know that Cappadocia is hot in late July, but is it bearable? I am thinking about staying at the Gamirasu Cave Hotel and taking tours with Cappadocia Tours. Any thoughts, anyone?

FYI - I'll be arriving late on day 1 and will spend 2 full days in Cappadocia and then on day 4 I will leave in the late afternoon and fly to Istanbul where I will stay 5 days and leave very early on my last day. If anyone has any thoughts about 5 full days in Istanbul and 2 and a half days in Cappadocia.

I'm adding Turkey to this so that if people search just for Turkey it will be found. Thanks for the help.

Hi sdaniels

You do not have any problem in Cappadocia because of the hot weather because you will visit may churchs or caves like refrigerator. In Istanbul if you stay one of the hotel in Sutanahmet you will be OK because most of the history is in the sultanahmet.

Have a nice trip in Turkey

If you are able to change your itinerary, I would suggest to add at least 1 more day to Cappadocia since you are making only two center holiday istanbul and Cappadocia.

You wont regret.

If I understand, do you suggest that I stay in Cappadocia for three and a half days and reduce my time in Istanbul to four days? Why? I think there will be so much to see in Istanbul that I will be frustrated with only four days. Am I wrong?

To tell you the truth, both places when you have the right mood would need a month to inhale fully. If you are able to give you 3 full days in Cappadocia than you will have an idea of the place. 1 day will be highlights of the inner Cappadocia, Second Day underground settlements and Ihlara valley, 3rd day for the remains from the first day or a good hike in the valleys. This does not even give you time to walk in villages and have further interaction with the local culture.

Istanbul: depending on your interest ; 1 day only and barely enough for old city. 4 days or 5 will not make so much of a difference. But ofcourse you will have to decide and make decision.

At least try to come with early plane to Cappadocia ( which I think you do ) and leave with latest in the evening.
Have fun,
Murat
