Capo d'Orlando
Hi! Has anyone stayed in Capo d'Orlando. I'm considering it for a 1 week stay. Is there much to do at night? many bars and restaraunts? What are the beaches like? How large is it?

Stopped in Capo di Orlando last July for lunch at La Tartaruga, a member of the Unione di Buon Ricordo. The town is a pretty typical middle class resort. Seemed to have a wide selection of restaurants/bars and lodging. A wide sandy beach. The sand is almost black however, due to the volcanic nature of the area and is HOT to walk on. It's also very pebbly. The water is very clear, and by La Tartaruga (which is also a hotel)pretty shallow for a long way out.

I'm currently in Capo d'orlando, the apartment is great, location can't be beat for price, nice owners also. We leave tomorrow for Cefalu. Like it here so far. vacanzesoleemare.it

Hooray!! This is the first ever post I've ever seen for Capo d'Orando. I'm so very interested. My grandparents came to the US after living in Capo. I would love to see more about it. I've been to Italy every year from 1987 to 2010, and I never went there. I don't know why, but I'm sorry I didn't go.

I liked Capo, it's a long long stretch of sand with some fake barriers in the water to create safe pools to swim. We walked the night we were there for 3 miles each way, we were at the west end of the beach.
