Canyoning in Nice?
My wife & I were looking for a fun break from the touring around during our stay in Nice.
Anyone tried this? http://www.activeazur.com/canyoning/south-france I found a company that runs a couple of trips about 30 minutes from Nice: http://lesgeckos.eu/canyoning/canyon-loup/ |
If I were going to do this (I'm not) I would want to be sure that either I spoke very good French or the guides spoke really good English. Getting instruction or responding to warnings is not something to do in pidgin.
I've seen lots of videos on this, and it would be a lot of fun if you are in good shape. |
Another tamer option is taking the Train des Pignes back into the hills/mountains north of Nice and doing some hiking. The little old train leaves from the Gare del Sud in Nice (6 blocks north of the main train station) and goes all the way to Dignes-les-Bains: www.beyond.fr/travel/railpignes.html. You can get off, hike around, and get on again. The usual turn-around point for a day trip is Entrevaux.

My son went canyoning in France with his girlfriend a few years ago, when he was in his mid twenties, and she was just twenty.
I don't know exactly where they did it but I do know they both loved it, even though they were both scared silly at times. They did have the good sense to include dangerous sports in their travel insurance coverage. I strongly recommend you do the same if you want to give it a go. |
Dear guys!
If you come to Dalat, Vietnam tries this one, Dalat Canyoning: http://adventuredalat.com/Tours/40/E...alat-Canyoning It's very good and fun compare with other places for Canyoning in Asia!!! |
