Can't e-mail a thread--why?
I wanted to save a thread on Paris. Running XP (SP2) with Explorer 7. Used to e-mail threads to myself to save them, now I can't. I disabled my pop-up stopper, then thinking that Explorer 7 might have its own, I clicked tools and PopUp Stopper, the only option was to turn ON the popup stopper. I still get the message on the bottom bar saying to hold down CONTROL key when clicking, which doesn't work. Any suggestions? (other than to buy an Mac).

copy to a word file and save there?
or copy into a new e-mail and send to yourself? |
Where does it go wrong? When you click "email this thread" does a window open to insert the address, etc?

I know I could copy and paste, but 2 weeks ago before I downloaded X 7, I could just click "e-mail this page" and it worked. Now it doesn't...I figure it must be something unique about Explorer 7.
The message I get (just above the Start icon-thingy) to the best of my memory, since I can't reply and click-a-thread simultaneously)is as follows: Popups were blocked on this page. Press and hold the CNTRL key while clicking to.... |
Works under Firefox - but it only sends the link
An alternative is to click on the link on the left hand side using the right mouse button and select "copy shortcut", then paste it into an email |
Eighth times the charm. Now it works. Go figure. Thanks, Mr. Gates, I do so appreciate technological progress.
