Cannes & Area 6 days in March - Restaurants? B&Bs?
Hi All,
My husband and I will be in Cannes & area for 6 days at the beginning of March (he on business, me to have fun & take photos).
Can anyone recommend a few restaurants in Cannes for dinner?
Also, we may spend the first few nights in another town - perhaps Saint-Paul-de-Vence. Can anyone recommend either a small inn or preferably a b&b (under $200) in that area as well as local restaurants?
We enjoy France alot, have visited Nice already so would like to visit somewhere else. We enjoy local markets, artisans, food, drink etc. and I do speak French which makes life a little easier.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Mantel in Rue Antoine is excellent, and there menu is good value for that kind of wonderful food, in Cannes. Fantastic risotto. Lots of other restaurants in that street.
Next to the Martinez, on the Croisette, is a pizza place that's always full, no reservations, and reasonable in price.

There are restaurant reviews for Cannes on this site: www.guidegantie.com
I've been to a restaurant in Cannes called Le Caveau 30 (45 rue Félix-Faure) a couple of times and the food is good. It's a large restaurant (so you might be able to get a table without a reservation), with 1930s decor.
If you are hiring a car then I'd recommend going to Mougins for a meal. It's a short drive from Cannes and there are some excellent restaurants, such as L'Amandier de Mougins.
Valbonne (about 25 minutes drive from Cannes) also has good restaurants. I took my husband to Le Bistro de Valbonne for his birthday last year and had a great meal with wonderful, friendly service - www.bistro-valbonne.com.
St Paul de Vence is not that far from Cannes, so you could base yourself in Cannes. Antibes is a short drive from Cannes or about 10 minutes by train.
Have a look at this site for B&B recommendations: www.sawdays.co.uk
Alternatively, you could visit the Massif de l'Esterel, west of Cannes, and stay in Frejus or Ste Maxime for a few nights. There are nice walks in the Esterel with fantastic views of the coast and inland. From Ste Maxime there are regular boat trips to St Tropez on the other side of the bay (about 12 Euros return with a boat every 20 minutes).

Hi Conny,
A B and B I can't recommend highly enough is this one;
http://www.toileblanche.com/
Stayed there around the same period last year and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Much prefered it to the more expensive hotels we stayed in in Cannes and Aix.
