Cancel Greek Isle Cruise

We have a Greek Isle cruise booked for August, with pre and post cruise in Athens. With the latest issues going on... should we be looking to visit elsewhere? Any advice would be be great!

By the time you reroute to wherever there could be unrest there while by August Greece may have totally quietened down to use a favorite phrase of my wise old grandmother.

The issues you are afraid of took place in Athens town centre. There are millions of people who live in Athens (both Greeks and foreigners) who keep living there without being in a serious danger. As far as the cruises to the islands are concerned, nothing is happing there. They attacked one central building and only in Athens. During August, everybody is on holidays and no such incident occurs. This is exactly what some people who live in Athens told me some moments ago, on facebook. Some of them are Americans but work in Greece and I trust them. I just wanted to let you know about that.

As I put on the Greece strikes thread, to cancel or not is your call. I can only say I think it would be crazy to cancel.

DON'T cancel!! Greece and her people need us now! (too bad they can't somehow eliminate their corrupt government and the wealthy slackers who refuse to pay taxes) The troubles are generally focused on city center - Syntagma and the Parliament area - as mentioned before. You can enjoy Plaka and Psirri and other areas of Athens with no problems. Yes, strikes can affect air and ferry traffic and recently closed Piraeus, the port of Athens, but essentially the strikes won't affect the islands at all.
Please don't cancel!
