Can you stand one more airport screening question?
 

Let's say that if I'm flying into London, I can't bring any cosmetics on board the plane, but I can if I'm flying into Frankfurt. Do the screeners look at my ticket to see where I'm going as they screen me? If London ends up with far stricter requirements than any other international destination, will there be one line for London and one for everywhere else?

You cannot bring any liquid, gel or cream stuff on any plane to/from the US. There is no distinction between flying into London or Frankfurt, or St. Louis.

But I've heard that there is a "no cosmetics" rule on flights to London - which would include "hard" lipstick that is permitted on flights within the US. Also, aren't the rules for electronics different for flights into London vs. US domestic flights?

There are different rules imposed by the BAA for flights departing from the UK. [Some other countries also have stricter rules for flights to the US, like Belgium.] But no distinction for flights from US->UK than other flights.

Okay...it's making sense. Every country's own rules control the flights LEAVING their country...destination doesn't matter.

Your airline site probably has all the information for you. I fly Delta and this is what they have on their site:
From or Within the US
From or through the UK
To the US
It is all very easy to read..latest update 8/22. It is always subject to change. I depart on 9/18 and will be checking it.

If you're flying from the USA, there is really no difference where you are going...for a while BA imposed British rules on its flights to London but if you are flying to London on any American airline (or even Virgin I believe) you are subject to the USA rules on what you can carry on which the airline itself might increase (as BA did)..

Now if you are connecting at Heathrow to go to Paris, here is where the rub comes in....you will have to clear immigration at Heathrow even if your luggage has been checked through...you will then have to go through security again at Heathrow and will be subject to the British rules of 1 carry on but if you're travelling directly to Paris or connecting at any non British airport, no problem.

Now upon returning to the USA, again the French rules themselves are not as strict as those of the British airports...if you are connecting at Heathrow again you will have to land in the UK and then clear Hethrow security and be subject to the rules at Heathrow which permit you to buy anything you want in the departure lounge but then any flight to the USA does not allow liquids of any sort...even from other airports, flights to the USA do not allow liquids or whatever.

Parfym - All okay. If it's doesn't say no, then it's fine. Again, the new restriction for flights from and within the US is <b>liquid</b> and <b>gel</b> products. Other stuff have not changed.
