Your statement was "I sure hope you guys at Fodors were smart enough not to build this site using anything Macromedia has to offer."
In English, the phrase "I sure hope" does not indicate any degree of certainty. In the present context, this construction could only mean that you were unaware of what engine was running the site. I know what I'm talking about, too. And I agree with you.
p.s. Why didn't you accuse me of indecision when I chose first to join in, then to quit? Or does only quitting and then rejoining meet your criteria? And who elected you to judge my decisiveness, anyway?

<<Except, one writes a long post and clicks "post my reply" and out into cyberspace it goes, lost forever.>>
In the current difficulty - - and in previous smilar times, I have found that a "lost" post is rarely truly lost, if you simply click "Back" right away - - you will find that your text is still "there" (in the box) - - and you can still cut and paste it (either try again, or save it elsewhere for trying again later).
If it should turn out that this doesn't work for you, then let this thread be your warning - - do a quick cut and paste (to somewhere else) BEFORE you click "post"- - particularly on any lengthy post.

I've not read the entire thread all that carefully, but, by the way, if you click "post" and it seems to take more than a few seconds, clicking the x in IE (to stop loading) and then clicking "post" again can do the trick. I don't know why though -- it's just something I discovered.
Otherwise, rex's suggestion of cutting and pasting is great.

My sources tell me that Fodors.com has been around a bit longer than ColdFusion so, given the information supplied by Phantom, there was no way to be certain whether Macromedia has played a dominant role in the evolution of Fodors.com.
If semantics are your thing, maybe you should get to know Suzie-Q-chromo. Sounds like love at first read.
"A little indecisive?" is a question. I don't see any statement of judgment. But, thanks for the English lesson.

A name to put into an e-mail address, such as "[email protected]," would be helpful. About two weeks ago there was a very vicious thread here in which some multiple-named unknown was making fun of someone. I sent it to the attention of [email protected] asking for its removal. A day or so later I got a reply saying that it would be forwarded to the attention of the site producers. Meanwhile, fortunately, it had been deleted, I assume by the staff of site monitors. But it would be nice to know how to get something quickly to the attention of the "site producers."
