Can you recommend a hotel in Siena $65 or less?

Need a good place for 65 euros or less near the town center in Siena. Any ideas?

Hi Michelle. Marcello, a kind artist, has rooms in his locanda (an Italian inn), the Locanda Garibaldi, for just a wee bit more than your asking price: 70 euros. At least that's what they were a year ago; we stayed there for five nights and loved it. And the locanda is located a cobblestone's throw south of Il Campo, at Via Giovanni Dupre 18. Tel #: 0577-284-204. The only problem is that he takes reservations no more than one week in advance (and no credit cards either), but it's a place to consider. Good luck!

I had a single room at the Piccolo Hotel Etruria for 45 euro with bath, phone and tv. Tre Donzelle next door also offers budget lodgings. Both are stone's throw from the campo.

We stayed at the Alma Domus, which is a convent in the heart of town. Aside from the 11:30 curfew (and the religious art, and, well, the nuns), you really can't tell you're not in a regular budget hotel - and a nice one, at that.

It was around $60 Euro for a double, which was decent in size. The highlight is that many of the rooms have balconies that look out over a valley in the town and the duomo. Great place, great price.

I second the Alma Domus. We stayed there a few weeks ago. Beautiful view from our balcony. It was around 70 Euro for a triple. Good location also.
