Can you read French? Please show me how to check a website?
I'm trying to confirm how many minutes are left on my calling card before I send it out to two people. The website is www.maxicall.fr and I can't figure out how to navigate the website -- I'm assuming there's a way to punch my code in somewhere and get a remaining minutes total. Any help from those of you who can spare a few minutes I'd really appreciate it.

You will have to create a login to use their services (like recharging the card) and it does not say you can check your minutes, just that you can buy more.
I just tried to do a fakie (with a real e-mail) and it did not work as I don't have French data. So. . . you might not be able to do what you want to.

sorry, one more thing -- if you click on the card with the U.S. flags and that says USA Europa on it with 15 E in the upper right corner, a chart comes up. I can't interpret how many long-distance minutes it allows from Paris to the U.S. What is N Vert du Fixe and n vert du cabine?

I always use http://babelfish.altavista.com/ to translate a website. Just copy and paste the web address into the "Translate a web page" box and it will translate most of the page for you. It doesn't always work the best, but it will give you a general idea.

Even for a french like me it looks weird! #-o
All I can understand is

Etats-Unis / Canada 600000(longs calls?) 1520 (N° LOCAL GSM) 500 N° VERT d'un fixe 344 N° VERT cabine
I can't believe you can have 600000 min!
Anyway a numéro vert (N Vert)is a number free of charge, usually starting with 0800 and maybe 0805 from a land phone or une cabine (phone box)
Local call rate is for numéros Azur starting with 0810 or 0811.
I hope they tell you more when you log in!

Here's a web translation of how to use the card. Can someone explain the "call back pay phone" option? This is how to use the card from a pay phone but I'm a little confused.
Also, from Paris, does it look like 30 36 is an actual phone # that can be dialed? This is the # to use if you're calling from a hotel room?
I understand steps 2 and 3 -- enter the code # and then the number you wish to dial. But I'm confused about how to choose which # to dial to access maxicall when in Paris.
UTLISATION OF THE CHARTS
1) Make the n° of your choice to reach our network :
• n° local national : 0811 600 101 (cost of a local call)
• access GSM : 01 70 72 00 18 (cost of a local call)
• n° green : 30 36 (free access to the network)
• Call Back Cabin 0805 81 75 81 (to be used of a public cabin not to pay the tax applied by France Telecom and thus to have more minutes. At the time the n° the n° is made up sounds as being already occupied. Hang up again and we recall you under a few seconds in the cabin).
2) Make your confidential code.
3) To compose the n° of your followed correspondent of # :
• For the international one : 00 + code country + n° of telephone.

The forum is too complicated for simpleminded me to figure out easily how to start a new topic, so since this is a related topic, I'm putting it here. Sorry for any inconvenience.
I have a France Telecom "Ticket Telephone Alizes". As usual, France Telecom is totally unforthcoming with information, so I'm hoping someone here can help, even if just with some sort of way to contact the appropriate unit within France Telecom to find out how to proceed.
The code you're supposed to enter each time you want to make a call is humongously long (13 digits), so they allow you to set up an "abbreviated code" ("code abrege"
consisting of only the last four digits. Which I did. Only now it won't take the code, and of course the silly morons only give you three tries before they BLOCK YOUR CARD COMPLETELY (it's enough to drive any normal person INSANE). I'm up to my third try and as usual I am shaking in my shoes that they will block and invalidate the card, which I paid 10 euros for but have only used ONCE to the tune of a few centimes. So I thought I would ask this board and see if anyone has any thoughts. Thanks for any help or advice you can offer. (Obviously I have Googled "Ticket Telephone Alizes", but all that comes up is collectors' pages and sites -- which are obviously less than useless in this situation.)

It seems that your ticket are quite old to be in collections by now! I couldn't find anything useful about them even on francetelecom website
Isn't there a special number on the card you can call?

Later you'll just have to click on your screen name to find all your postings. And if you get no answer, reply your own thread (just write ttt (to the top)) to bring it back to the top of the listing. Is that clear? ;-)
