Can you help with a web-site?

I know someone here has talked about a web-site that you put in an addy in Paris and it will show you the neighbourhood. I can't find it...Any help would be good.

I am looking to find out info on '63 Avenue de la Bourdonnais,
75007 Paris'

Thanks

where do I type in the addy on the site...Thanks a million.

under "ou?" Localitie is Paris 7, type the address in the addresse slot, then
put IDF in the departement area.
Click Rechercher. Click on Photo under what comes next. Another cool feature is ability to look across the street, etc, by clicking on arrows.

sorry if that's unclear. "IDF" for Ile de France goes in Localite area.

Don't screw around with the main page. Go directly to http://photos.pagesjaunes.fr and type the street number and name in the blank.

Thanks, Robespierre.

Did you try hitting the link in my post (3 above)?

Photobear Dec 26th, 2006 03:48 PM

Robespierre...I did but it says cannot find server. I hope I can find a way to access it.

Photobear, I just tried that link and it worked fine for me so maybe a glitch on your end. Keep trying.

Photobear Dec 26th, 2006 04:52 PM

I will try on my husband's computer to see if he can but I just tried again and it's a no go. :(

Who is your ISP? It sounds like their DNS isn't working as intended.

Photobear Dec 26th, 2006 04:58 PM

It's Rogers here in Canada which is the largest ISP i Canada...

Robespierre Dec 26th, 2006 05:04 PM

Hmmm. Maybe they're anglophones with an attitude about French web sites? Can you see http://www.pagesjaunes.fr?

yestravel Dec 26th, 2006 05:15 PM

I'm on earthlink and am having the same problem. I can see http://www.pagesjaunes.fr?

Robespierre Dec 26th, 2006 06:17 PM

That's really weird. Try purging your cache. If your browser cached an obsolete IP address, you might get the "no server" symptom.

By the way - what browsers have you tried?

yestravel Dec 26th, 2006 06:44 PM

Thanks, I purged my cache and still no luck. I'm using IE. What's really weird is that I've used that site b4.

worldinabag Dec 26th, 2006 10:41 PM

Mine works OK. I note that the site requires "Flash" player. Have you downloaded this onto your computer? If so try downloading Updates for the program. You can see the link on the bottom left hand side of the - http://photos.pagesjaunes.fr - page.

Hi

You can also type in an address in Google maps and get this shown on the map: http://www.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl&q=

Here is a link to my Paris trip report with links, pictures and a Google map that shows where the attractions are located: http://gardkarlsen.com/Paris_France.htm
