Can you advise best way to get from Copenhagen up to Oslo by car, and how long??

Hello - we leave for Copenhagen a week from
today, will spend a few days in Denmark with
friends at a special event, and hopefully drive
(?) up to Oslo, then Bergen. We are doing this
trip VERY spontaneously having just returned
from Switzerland last Sat. 7-l8. We just decided
to do this last night, and my husband was up at
4 this a.m. getting the airfare (don't ask how
much!), doing some research, talking to Danish
friends, getting a car etc. We are familiar
with Denmark, but have never been to Norway.
Any advice on how best to get up there (and how
long it takes etc.) is GREATLY appreciated. We
leave next Thursday 30th to Copenhagen, and will
fly out of Oslo (8-8 I believe.)
PLEASE, no lectures on advance planning!! We
always do, but this just happened to come up.
(weather advise appreciated too!) THANK YOU
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU !

Cheryl,
From Denmark to Oslo you have a few options, none particularly appealing. Ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo takes approximately 16 hours; from Fredrikshaven to Oslo about 10 hours. Motor route from Copenhagen to Oslo via Helsingor Denmark, Helsingborg, Halmstad and Goteborg, Sweden encompasses about 600 Kms by road, plus ferry time from Helsingor to Helsingborg

The following are the quickest, most direct routes via autobahn. There are no particularly scenic routes in any case.

Frankfurt - Dresden. From the airport take Rte 43 east about 2km to A5 (E451) north. Take A5 (E451) approximately 60 km to A4 (E40) eastbound
which runs directly into Dresden. You'll pass through or near Bad Homburg, Giessen, Bad Hersfeld, Eisenach, Erfurt, Weimar, Jena, Gera, Chemnitz on
the way to Dresden. Total distance is approximately 400 km or 250 miles.

Hamburg - Frankfurt. From Hamburg pick up A7 (E45) southbound to A4 (E40) just west of Bad Hersfeld. Take A4 (E40) westbound to A5 (E451) southbound
to Frankfurt. You'll pass through or near Hannover, Hildesheim, Gottingen, Kassel and Bad Hersfeld on the route to Frankfurt. Total distance is
approximately 500 km or 300 miles.
