Can we leave luggage at the train station in Verona?

We're thing about doing Verona on the way to Florence. I know we will be doing some back tracking, but it may be the only chance we have to go. I understand it will only take us about an hour out of our way.

Can we leave our luggage at the train station there?

Thanks

Debby

Hi Debby,

For what it's worth, Verona has coin operated luggage lockers in the train station. Maximum time two years ago was 6 hours.

Someone else may know if they have a check-in service for baggage holds for a longer period of time.

Have a great time

Thanks for the comment. If 6 hours is all we have, we will make it work. I was more concerned about changes since 9/11. Is anyone aware of a website I can contact to find out the luggage situation in smaller train stations since 9/11?

Thanks

Debby

Debby: 3 weeks ago the coin lockers in Rome & Naples train stations were still closed due too security (9/11), but the manned luggage storage areas were open. You definitely should check-out other guidebooks at a bookstore but the way it's worded and priced in "Let's Go Italy 2002" it *seems* that Verona has a manned storage area. Example: Verona L5000/e2.58 per 12hr and Pisa "Self service in the train station" L3-7000/e1.65-3.62 per 24hr. Just a guess and "Let's Go" has been known to be wrong:(. Regards, Walter
