<thinking diapers, formula and wipes etc would take one suitcase>

Let me open with "I am not a Mom" so maybe way off base here, but couldn't these be purchased as needed along the way on your trip? I can see needing a few days worth to get you started certainly, but then...

You definitely don't need a whole suitcase for diapers, formula, and wipes. All of those are readily available all over France. Just throw in enough to get you through the first two days.

Right, StCirq, but Islandmom has a baby and a 5 year old according to her other post. The baby is the challenge. Those diapers are expensive, and really expensive if you buy them in quantities of less than a bushel and you don't have a coupon. European prices were not very sweet ten years ago and have probably not gotten any better.

Other things Islandmom: consider a fold up portable crib and a roller for the baby.

In general, allow yourself plenty of extra time for everything. You seem to have planned a two-birds-with-one-stone trip which has the makings of stress and trouble and extra expense.
