CAN IT BE DONE???
I will have one free day while in London and would like to visit Amsterdam! Can this be a day trip?? What would be the best way to get there from London?
|
I believe it's about a 5 hour train ride.....
|
It's a very short flight - like 45 minutes or so - but you would need to search to find bargain opportunities - and how much additional time they would take at either end.
|
Are you thinking leaving and returning in the same day? If so, then you will have to fly.
Here is an idea: If it is your last day in London, what you could do is fly out to Amsterdam, leaving your luggage at an airport locker. Do what you want to do, then fly back to London and you will land in the airport to then catch your flight home. If you are going to tak advantage of the legal substances, be careful that you don't miss your flight or show up too dissheveled to fly. Claire |
KLM, British Airways, BMbaby, Easyjet they all have various flight a day.
So a daytrip is possible, check the airlines. 1st flight in, last flight out. Train from the airport to city-center takes 15 minutes... |
PS And no there is no trainconnection between London and Amsterdam.....
|
Actually there is...It's just not direct. You change at Brussels. But it would be madness for a day trip as it's around 3 hours to Brussels and the Dutch train just sort of pootles along.
Also whilst Schipol is close to the centre of Hamster-jam none of the London airports (apart fom city) are close to central london. City aiport has flights to Amsterdam (it also has it's own tube station now) |
Physically possible but not reasonable. Flying would be the best way.
